Syria: Tartus and Arwad (2010)

Tartus is a city on the Mediterranean coast of Syria, founded by Phoenicians in the 2nd Millenium BC.

Its old town is full of narrow alleys, cul-de-sac's and kids.

Arwad is the only inhabited island in Syria, 3km off the coast of Tartus.

The town of Arwad takes up the entire island. There are no roads and no cars. Just boats and kids.
